Aardvark (All About Really Determined Very Amazing Rocking Kids) is a not for profit organisation that connects 14-24 year olds that have experienced serious adversity, with recording artists, music therapists and artist mentors on a regular basis to write, perform, record and distribute original music.

This year, the new Aardvark participants have teamed up to create ‘Outlines’, an inspiring collection of original music. The CD launch is the culmination of the two groups from this year's programs that combined the skills of music industry professional, Tristan Goodall (the Audreys) and music therapists Meagan Hunt and Lucy Bolger in a community setting to positively address the significant psychosocial challenges faced by young Australian's experiencing serious adversity through chronic illness, mental illness or difficult life circumstances.

Aardvark Ambassador Wally De Backer (Goyte) said, “I think it's easy for people who have their health to forget how challenging it can be when it's a barrier. Aardvark is a wonderful forum for young people who have sometimes been disconnected from friends and social groups through the challenges of their health to be inspired by music and shared creativity”.

The Stonefield team of Amy, Hannah, Holly and Sarah Findlay said “The Aardvark program provides children and young adults with an opportunity to face their challenges and connect with family, friends and community through the language of music”.

Tristan Goodall from The Audreys said “It has been terrific to see the Aardvark participants develop their songwriting and musical skills, and bring these together to deliver confident performances that they are proud of”.

“Aardvark is the highlight of my week, I don’t think I could get through the week without it,” said one of the Aardvark Participants.

The Velvet Room is located on the ground floor of the venue. Wheelchair access is via the front door. There are 3 steps into the Velvet Room. Access without steps can be arranged. If you have any special needs contact the venue beforehand to arrange assistance if required.
